This is a unique tour where backpacking meets package tours (minus its usual rigidity). This fast paced tour is only for singles, couples and small groups as it takes you from the French chic to the rustic countryside in 9 days.

The tour visits the  key destination in Europe - France. All travel is by fast TGV trains (Eurail) and we only use mini-vans/cars for sightseeing & transfer.

In keeping with the backpacking spirit, we ensure that we take you beyond the typical touristy destinations. We use budget accommodation and ensure that time (& money) is better spent on sightseeing and experiencing the local culture. Want to just sit at a cafe and soak in the atmosphere? While we include the necessary sightseeing, we also have places in itinerary where one is free to do their own thing !

WHAT DO WE DO THERE?

1

Paris

Arrive at Paris in the morning, transfer to hotel and check in.

Rest of the day free till 7pm. Options for group include, visiting the Louvre museum or visiting Eiffel tower (entry charges not included). Paris has plenty of things to do for the afternoon. Your guide will help you with public transport options and any direction you may need should you decide to go out before joining the group at evening for sightseeing.

 

 

Cruise + Illuminations Tour (Included)– Today evening we take a cruise and illuminations tour that takes you on River Seine. Follow this up by a drive through Paris by night. Its a experience to remember to see this magnificent city lit up at night. Key places covered - Champs-Elysees, Arch of triumph, Eiffel Tower, Louvre Pyramid and more. [Duration - 3 hrs. ; Start time – 19:30 - included)

Includes – Boat cruise on River Seine, drive through Paris with commentary

Paris

Today we have a free day. Customers are free to do their own thing ! The options that we can book include: Tour of Versailles, a Segway tour of Paris, a full day at Disneyland Paris, Guided tour of Paris, Lunch at Eiffel tower, Cycling tour to Versailles.

The evening is free to enjoy any of the shows in Paris – Lido, Moulin Rouge or others.

For those who want to go further we can also arrange visits to: Normady (Mont Sant Michel), Loire Valley day tour, visit to Champagne region or even a day to Brugge in Belgium.

 

 

OPTIONAL: Hop on and hop off tour in Paris!

Today you can board a hop-on,hop-off (HOHO) bus that runs 4 routes across the city stopping at each attraction that Paris has to offer.

Eiffel and all other attractions tickets at actuals – you pay only for the attractions you want to visit.

Includes - Hop on hop off bus tour, valid for one day on the 4 tour routes by open top-decker coach and recorded commentary. (EUR 30)

Dijon

Transfer from hotel to station & board the train to Dijon [07:20 – 10:16]. On arrival at Dijon, transfer to your hotel and check-in

with tastings (gingerbread and mustard). This walking tour takes us around the key attractions of Dijon. Walk the markets and the local attractions. Learn about the history, culture of Dijon.

Dijon

Dijon- Countryside tour to Beaune & Vineyards (1/2 Day - Included)

 

 

Today we head out to the countryside in Burgundy and visit some of the vineyards in Cote de 'Nuits region along with a visit to the small, charming vineyard in a village and savour the delightful wine with some fine cheese. The hills offer a breathtaking view of this rural landscape. Visit the "Clos de Vougeot" castle, one of the oldest Burgundian winery, dating from 1115

Private wine-tasting and initiation to the wine-tasting and wine-feeling : 1st Crus and Grands Crus

Later we proceed to the charming and old town of Beaune for shopping, discovering or visiting the "hospices de Beaune" dating from 1443 (entrance to the hospices is not included)

Avignon

After breakfast, check out & transfer to station and travel to the beautiful and rustic rural part of France, the Provence region. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in.

 

 

Avignon is a key destination of the Provence region and is a perfect base to explore the surrounding countryside and the lavender fields. Avignon was also the home of Popes.

Avignon is a compact town, and all the attractions are on a walking distance. We leave after lunch to visit the Palace of the Pope (entrance fee not included) and also the Pont d'Avignon, the bridge first built in 1171 spans the Rhone river.

Provence Countryside Sightseeing (Included)

 

 

9.00 am: departure with a minibus and an english speaking guide for a private full day excursion.

Stop at the market in Isle sur la Sorgue. Then, guided visit of the lavander museum (movie; visit of the museum of stills and shop). Visit of the hill top villages of Roussillon and Gordes. Lunch on your own.The afternoon, stop in Saint Rémy de Provence to look at the antic monuments (triumphal arch and mausoleum) dating from the 1st century BC.Visit of the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence before ending the tour by the famous Pont du Gard, part of a roman aqueduct.

7.00 pm: back to Avignon.

Nice

Transfer from hotel to Avignon station to board the train to Nice (South of France aka. French Riviera). On arrival, transfer to hotel.

 

 

Nice City Tour (OPTIONAL) -

 

 

After arrival, you can opt to take a Nice city tour to discover the history and culture.

Discover the history and culture of Nice with this half day city tour. Your city tour of Nice begins with a visit to Castle Hill where the Greeks first arrived and where you can admire a breathtaking view of the old town and the port. Then it's onto Cimiez where you will have the possibility to visit either the Chagall or Matisse Museum (entrances not included), as well as the Fransciscan monastery, Queen Victoria's Winter Palace and the roman ruins located within a beautiful mediterranean garden. The Russian Church will be our next stop and is indeed very surprising, as this is the biggest Russian Church built outside Russia under the last Tsar Nicolas II. After passing by 'La Promenade des Anglais', the tour will end in the beautiful old town of Nice with its restaurants, cafes and the famous flower market. [Start time - 14:30 ; Duration - 3 hrs. Cost 41 EUR pp]. Includes - Transportation by minibus, hotel pick up and drop off, commentary by a driver-guide.

Nice

Full Day Tour to Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze (Included)

 

 

After breakfast, we depart to the ultimate location of the rich and famous !

We start off with a visit to Eze village located on the top of the cliffs, providing a breathtaking view of the Nice Riviera area. We also visit a perfume factory here.

On arrival into Monaco you will see some of the famous sights including the Cathedral and the Monte Carlo Formula One circuit. This full day tour will introduce you to the natural beauty of the 'Moyenne Corniche' as we travel to Monaco with stops to appreciate the views and admire places of interest along the way. You will have free time to see the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried, the changing of the guard at noon and the Palace, then we take a drive along the Formula One race circuit. Of course no Monaco tour would be complete without a stroll around Monte-Carlo with its Casino, superb hotels and beautiful gardens. The journey back to Nice is via the 'Basse Corniche' for more superb views. [Start time - 09:00 ; Duration - 8.5 hrs]. Includes - Transportation by minibus, hotel pick up and drop off, commentary by a driver-guide, guided visit of a perfume factory in Eze.
