OPTIONAL: Half Day Excursion to Toledo

This monumental city is like an immense museum of great beauty and holds some of the most genuine historical Spanish monuments. Its old gothic and renaissance buildings and narrow streets and alleys, testifies to its old days of magnificence. The old city has been considered as a National Monument and declared a World Heritage city by UNESCO. Toledo is also named the city of three cultures, as for a long period of time, the Christian, Islamic and Jewish lived peacefully within its walls. Dep – 14:15, duration 4:30 hours. Cost 62 EUR pp

DAY 3 BARCELONA Morning train to Madrid - Barcelona. [Hotel : Sant Antoni]

Afternoon City Visit - Take the chance to see some of the highlights of Barcelona's art and architecture in this half day tour. We depart from the bus terminal and proceed firstly to Park Guell. Then we continue on past Gaudi's masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia and on to the monumental Bullring. We will also visit Santa Maria del Sar Cathedral before finishing with a tour of the Paseo de Gracia in which we view the Lleo Morera, Batllo, Ametller and Mila houses, the last one being better known as la Pedrera. [Duration : 3 hrs. 30 min. ; Start time : 15:30]

DAY 4 BARCELONA-PARIS (overnight train) Montserrat Morning Visit - Enjoy a visit to the Royal Basilica on Montserrat Mountain's Natural Park. Departing from the bus terminal, we drive past some of the province's picturesque little villages before reaching the outstanding

Montserrat Mountain, situated at an altitude of 1235 meters above sea level. Here we visit the Royal Basilica, where the famous Romanesque sculpture of Virgin Moreneta can be admired. On our way back from Montserrat we stop at the harbour, where we have the option to stay and visit the Aquarium, shops, restaurants and cinemas in this Maritime complex. All those remaining that do not wish to stay in the harbour area will continue back to the Pullmantur Terminal. [Duration - 5 hrs. ; Start time - 09:30]

Evening proceed to station for overnight train BARCELONA-PARIS

DAY 5 PARIS Arrive morning in Paris. [Hotel : Allegro or equivalent].

Enjoy the main sights of the French capital with this fantastic hop on hop off open top bus tour, valid for one day! DAY 7 NICE Train to Nice in the morning [07:46-13:25]

Check in at hotel [St. Gothard].

Nice City Tour (Afternoon) -

Discover the history and culture of Nice with this half day city tour. Your city tour of Nice begins with a visit to Castle Hill where the Greeks first arrived and where you can admire a breathtaking view of the old town and the port. Then it's onto Cimiez where you will have the possibility to visit either the Chagall or Matisse Museum (entrances not included), as well as the Fransciscan monastery, Queen Victoria's Winter Palace and the roman ruins located within a beautiful mediterranean garden. The Russian Church will be our next stop and is indeed very surprising, as this is the biggest Russian Church built outside Russia under the last Tsar Nicolas II. After passing by 'La Promenade des Anglais', the tour will end in the beautiful old town of Nice with its restaurants, cafes and the famous flower market. [Start time - 14:30 ; Duration - 3 hrs]

DAY 8 NICE Full Day Tour - Provence

This full day tour takes us to some of the most scenic spots in Provence - Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, Gourdon, Tourettes sur Loup and St Paul de Vence. After leaving Nice, our first stop will be at Antibes, where we visit the old town and drive through the famous 'Cap d'Antibes', one of the most exclusive areas on the Cote d'Azur. Then it's on to Cannes, home to the famous film festival, where we see the 'Croisette' and feel the 'Hollywood atmosphere'. From here, we continue to Grasse, a typical old town, famous for perfume manufacture. We will visit one of the perfume factories here and there will be time for lunch (not included). Upon leaving Grasse, we drive to Gourdon, one of the most amazing medieval villages of the Riviera, with its beautiful castle and unique landscape. Our next stop will be at Tourettes sur Loup, the 'Village of Violets', with its picture-postcard scenery. Our final visit is to artistic St Paul de Vence, the jewel of Provence and home to many painters and actors. We aim to arrive back in Nice at around 17.30. [Start time - 09:00 ; Duration - 8.5 hrs.]

DAY 9 NICE Full Day Tour to Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze -

Enjoy a visit to Eze village and its perfume factory, then travel on to Monaco where you will see some of the most famous sights including the Cathedral and the Monte Carlo Formula One circuit. This full day tour will introduce you to the natural beauty of the 'Moyenne Corniche' as we travel to Monaco with stops to appreciate the views and admire places of interest along the way. We make a stop at the medieval village of Eze, perched high on a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea. Whilst there you will have the chance to visit a traditional perfume factory. After a wander around the village where every street is full of charm and history, our tour then takes us on to Monaco where you will have free time to see the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried, the changing of the guard at noon and the Palace, then we take a drive along the Formula One race circuit. Of course no Monaco tour would be complete without a stroll around Monte-Carlo with its Casino, superb hotels and beautiful gardens. The journey back to Nice will be via the 'Basse Corniche' for more superb views. [Start time - 09:00 ; Duration - 8.5 hrs.]
