Istanbul & Cappadocia (4N/5D)

Day 1: India / ISTANBUL (-)

Meet and greet at Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Transfer to the hotel (early check-in subject to availability, but we will do our best to arrange it). PM Bosphorus Cruise along the Bosphorus, the winding strait separating Europe & Asia. Bosphorus coastline is a delightful mixture of the past and the present where one can enjoy the grand splendour and quaint beauty of the ancient wooden mansions, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages and visit of Spice Market. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: ISTANBUL (B)

After breakfast visit of the city including; St.Sophia (closed on Mondays), Byzantine Hippodrome, in which stand the obelisk brought from Egypt by Theodosius and the Serpent Column taken from Delphi by Constantine, followed by the visit to Blue Mosque, which has six minarets and a middle dome of 109 feet. The last stop is the Grand Covered Bazaar (closed on Sundays) dating back to 15th century. It covers over 4,000 shops under one roof. PM free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Istanbul / Kayseri / CAPPADOCIA (B,L,D)

After breakfast transfer to the apt for morning flight to Kayseri. Upon arrival meet with assistant and drive to Cappadocia. Visiting Kaymakli or Derinkuyu Underground City; carved out of rock and completely self contained. More than 200 people lived on each of seven floors with the last one 250 feet underground. Then see the citadel of Ortahisar and the old Cavusin Village and its cave houses. Lunch followed by a walking tour of Red Valley and a visit to Urgup Wine House. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4: CAPPADOCIA (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel and then visit Dervent Valley, Pasabagi Fairy Chimneys and Avanos Village. After lunch at a typical local restaurant Pigeon Valley and the natural citadel of Uchisar visited, followed by Goreme Open-Air Museum, which is full of pink, rose and white tapering columns. These tall free standing cones of stone curve and twist as if pulled from earth like taffy. Others are tall like fairy chimneys. The caves were settled in the 4th century as monasteries. Visit some caves on the cliffs to see Byzantine frescoes decorating early Christian churches. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Cappadocia / Kayseri / Istanbul / INDIA (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Free till departure. Transfer to Kayseri Airport and connect to international flight via Istanbul.

Due to construction on the railway in Istanbul trains will not work for around 2 years (2012 and 2013).

Child policy:

00-02 years free sharing bed with parents

03-05 years 60% reduction sharing bed with parents

06-10 years 35% reduction sharing room with 2 adults

(In case 06-10 years child shares room with one adult, adult person pays single room supplement)

When determining minimum group size, children benefiting from child reductions will not be taken in to account.
